Cat is really out of the bag...

From: Jim Plouffe (jimplouffe@comcast.net) | Date: 2004-11-18 18:20:55 UTC-05:00
Just received a call from my Mother-in-Law that the Cape Cod Times had,
as its almost entire front page, an article all about letterboxing. I
haven't seen it yet but she's saving it for me for Thanksgiving. But I
am looking at it online. For those of you interested, here's the article.

Hopefully, this will bring the remaining good people in this area, that
haven't already found out, to this hobby. Have a wonderful day.

Happy trails and Happy Hunting,

Blax

That is one very nice article in the Cape Cod Times. It really
enveloped the spirit of LB'g and gives a little something more -- the
author must now be (if not before) a fellow box'r.

I was thinking the same thing. In fact, I was a bit surprised when I
read the article and the reference to a possible box by the Times and/or
the author. It really was a great article.

And I don't intend to start any further of a debate about the subject,
because, as everyone knows, it has been beat to a pulp already,
bbbuuuuuttttt... This article goes to show how the information from an
active (and legendary, if I may) boxer, with the addition of a lot of
accurate information, can really be relayed in a good manner through the
press. I don't dare imagine what the article would be like if Rae
Record hadn't been so involved. Kudos Rae!

Have a wonderful holiday season everyone,

Blax

It was indeed a great article! I wish they were all done as well. I hope
all of you local to the Cape Cod area drop the reporter a note! After all,
no matter how much good quality info is given, it is the reporter and editor
who ultimately spin the article. Kudos to ALL who participated. Curious to
hear more about the Times box.

Thanks for the link to this article. I enjoyed reading it. I can't
wait to take a trip out to the Cape to do some LB searching. My LB
buddy and I have talked about this a few times, I'll have to give
her a nudge. Hey Hawkwind, if you read this, consider yourself
nudged.
I actually found out about letterboxing from an article in
Prevention magazine about 2-3 years ago. I didn't even see the
article until about a year later when I came across the old magazine
in one of my "piles". Hopefully this Cape Cod Times article will
start at least one more addict - I mean fan. :)

Hello Everyone!

I just signed up today and noticed this discussion about the Cape Cod
Times article. I read that article and I'm already obsessed! I
can't wait to get started. I will be bringing my 20 month old with
me. This is perfect to keep us both busy some days! Just waiting
for my stamp.....

Hello Mumma,
Welcome to letterboxing. You certainly live in a "target rich"
environment. Here are some links to sites that might help you. I
didn't read the article so I'm not sure if helpful links were
included.

Hi Don,

Thank you for the welcome and the info. A couple of the sites I did
not know about. I'll check them out.

Mumma :)
